Lydia Wirth
began dancing at age five in Pittsburgh, PA and continued her early training at West Point Ballet with Cynthia Castillo and Damien M. Coro. She went on to attend summer programs with Washington Ballet and Cincinnati Ballet. In 2021, Lydia graduated magna cum laude from Butler University with a BFA in Dance-Performance and a minor in Strategic Communication. As a part of Butler Ballet, she had the opportunity to train under esteemed faculty members in both performance and pedagogical classes. During this time, she also had the pleasure of creating and debuting several original pieces of choreography.
After graduating, Lydia performed for a season with Columbia Classical Ballet before joining Portland Ballet, where she is entering her fourth season. Alongside her professional dance career, Lydia teaches at Portland School of Ballet and other local studios. She shares her passion for various dance styles with students of all ages and experience levels. She is thrilled to be working with the students of Crescendo School of Performing Arts this summer as the Choreographer for “The Jungle Book KIDS” and “Matilda the Musical Jr.”!
